To disable a Windows 10 update do the following

• Do a Windows search for “Services”
• Within Services, scroll down to “Windows Update”, Double-Click to open properties
• First, click ‘Stop’
• Then, change Startup Type from ‘Automatic (or manual)’ to ‘Disabled’
• Click Apply and then OK
